It's relaxing... it's rewarding to see the results of hard work... it's a way to grow your own fresh fruit and vegetables... it's pleasant to look at... it's a activity to do outside... it can improve the look of your yard....

I go to the Lake District every summer with children who have various special needs, to sit in a garden, which is peaceful and relaxed is amazing, I adore it and so do the kids, we stay in a lodge in the middle of no where surrounded by fields and trees and woodlands and natures gardens. At home I have two gardens the one int the front is a little contry garden and the one out back is a garden i grow things like herbs and potatoes, to plant something and over time watch it grow and mature is great, one of the best feeling in the world.

I'm a trained nurse/counsellor who had enough of stressful jobs. Now I work at a organic herbal healing garden. We run courses on herbalism, shamanism, flower remedies etc, and are open to the public during the summer. I help out with the organisation of the courses and all aspects of gardening. I love it! i have never felt so grounded and connected to mother earth as what i do now. Stuff your stressful jobs and go work in a garden. Work for the soul and go home tired but not burnt out!

I love my little bit of garden, watching new life grow after you have planted and nurtured it, seeing beautiful coloured plants and flowers brighten up the darkest of days, tending to flowers so that bees can take the nectar, seeing all forms of bug life and how they move and work in amongst plants and flowers, birds coming down with a swoop in autumn to grab a bit of branch or leaf for their nests, I just find it very relaxing and love to see something new each and everyday.

It makes people feel they are getting back to their ancestors when growing things ment death or survival. Also it,s very theraputic to plant things and see them grow to the full extent.
