I need something that will make them lighter. I use to smoke and stopped and to me they look darker than they should.

You may want to consider exfoliating your lips. Try using a bit of salt on a toothbrush and scrub. Don't overscrub, though. You can also lighten your lips by applying a concealer(fair or light tone) before applying lipstick. It will benefit you two ways: lighten the lips(temporarily) and make the lipstick stay on a bit longer.

Bonus tip: If your nails are yellowed from smoking also, soak them in vinegar or lemon juice. You can also use a product called Yellow Out.

Their are plenty tinted lip balms. Also tinted lip gloss you can find them at any grocery stores. Also theirs lipstick which comes in a variety of awesome colors. I advise Cover Girl and N.Y.C if you're on a budget.

Use covergirls color stay lipcolor in a nude shade! The color lasts all day and the gloss that comes with it feels great on your lips!

burts bees stick. (champagne flavored)
it makes your lips silverish pinkish (more pink than silver).
