Personally I believe that our life is, as you say. set out in a certain plan. However as with any plan we must find the road that best suits us and try to choose the correct paths to reach our final destination. A plan is just an idea & not set in stone.
I can look at my past and see all the roads I had to choose from. I can also see that I learned some lessons that I might not have learned had I taken another route.
Everything that happened to me along the way made me strong enough to survive, gave me the knowlege that I needed to raise my kids and without the few moments that the "Fates" stepped in, I would not have reconnected with a friend from the past, that i ended up marrying. Honestly we were both at the same place moments apart and had we not literally bumped into each other, we would have never seen the other again.
So yes, our lives are planned but it is the roads we choose that makes the plans work for us and sometimes the "Fates" help you find the correct path.
Call me a fruitloop... i don't care. I believe in in predestinantion and fate.

You always have a choice, left or right, up or down, good or evil, the choices you make charts a course in your life, in America you are limited only by your ambitions, and even though you do not wish to here stuff about God, God is also a choice, you can do as you wish cause God gives you freewill, its only evil men who try to impose God upon you. I myself could be working in an office wearing a suit and tie, working in a cubical, but I chose to not live that life, now I earn a living driving, listening to music, and snapping pictures all on company time, and the bonus...I wear what I choose.

We have a natrual curve to life set out by evolution but within those flexible brackets of birth and death we have relative freedom, although the environment we live in does limit what we can do, oh and socierty on a whole. Socierty limits us but is also the thing that enables us to so much more. So not random, just us causing ripples that come back to us in different ways. No god needed to live a good moral life in my view.

Life is certainly a series of choices, however since we are not alone on this planet, the choices and decisions of the people we interact with are going to have an influence on our lives as well. We possess free will and free thought. These two freedoms alone create variables which would make it impossible for any predetermined plan to exist.

Don't you mean 'pre-determined'? It is true that your genes from your parents are , in turn , descendent from theirs etc, etc. Somewhere along the way , over hundreds of years , genes are passed down (unless they mutate). Your health is one topic that could be pre-determined. Heart disease , strokes , brain disease. The most distructive of all is Diabetes. Eye , hair colouring. Logtivety in age is another pre-requisite in families. They , to my mind, are not random choices. As to the future , well! , that's for the unknown. There is one thing certain , there is an old adage - quote : "We come into this world with nothing and we all will leave this world with nothing , it's what we do in the middle that counts". So go out and survive and don't be worrying.

i dont honestly know if our lives are pre defined....but what i can tell you from experience is that we have many choices which we can take & those choices lead you upon a certain path...my advice is to think carefully before making any rash decisions & another thing.....we all have an inner voice that tells us if a decision is right or wrong....it's all in your hands...& as to your remark about god......i think you will find yourself asking for his help sooner or later & your view may change on that...i know mine has......just try & be a good person & do whats right & hence you will be confortable in your skin & able to sleep at night....& one final piece of advice.....let your parents know how much you love them as they dont live forever.
it's not big & it's not clever but it's true.
