I've downloaded a film from bearshare, but when I try to play it, it's just the sound and waves. anyone know the best way to download watchable films and what the best media to view them on?

try downloading from mininova.org, just about anything you could want on there, vlc media player is cool, it will play almost anything.

Try going to download.com and getting bit torrent. Also get a DVB stick and record movies from the tV. Some good movies sometimes on Film 4 now. look at Maplin for a DVB stick - they sent me a sale today. If you have a desktop get a stick with remote control - no need if you have a laptop really.

make sure you got all the codecs for AVI and DIVX and so on. you can get them here. its the klite codec pack: http://www.free-codecs.com/download/K_Lite_Codec_Pack.htm
get vlc player as it plays nearly anything, get it here: http://www.videolan.org/vlc/download-windows.html
and i find the best way to download movies is with utorrent, which you can get here: http://www.utorrent.com/download.php (get the installation program). also try this site as its very good: http://www.torrentspy.com/ .hope this helps.
