Make sure the power cable didn't get disconnected from the drive. You'll need to open the computer up to try this.

There may be a small hole on the front of your CD drive. Stick a paper clip in there and the tray should pop open. That's what the hole is for -- I know it sounds strange.

Hi.

There's a couple of things you can do.

1. Turn of your computer, unplug it. Plug it back in, turn on your computer. Press the eject button.

2. I'm not sure how old your CD drive is, but I have a very old drive that requires me to press the eject button 2 times before it will release the CD.

3. There is usually a pin hole in the front of the CD ROM drive. If you have a paper clip, bend it so it's strait. Then push the paperclip into the pin hole in the fron of the CD ROM drive. This will typically open the CD drive if nothing is mechanically jammed.

4. Dissassembling the CD ROM drive should be a last resort option.

I would not recommend #4 unless you have training or know of someone who does for SAFTEY REASONS.

Hope this helps.

On some there is a tiny hole that is just right for a paper clip to fit into, near the tray. It is the emergency tripper for the release of this kind of trouble.
Straighten out a paper clip and poke it into the hole, slowly but firmly, with the unit off. If it works the tray will move just enough to grab it and slowly pull it out manually.
No hole? Service shop.

unbend a paperclip and push it into that little tiny hole you see under the CD tray. It'll manually pop it out.

pry it open. Don't be gentle, or you can go the way that you wouldn't want to brake your computer, and call someone localy to fix it.
