My mother in law used to say if she could go 24 months without a monthly she would be clear. I think all in all it lasted about 4 years. She used to go 13 or 14 months then have one and all the while the hot flushes used to go on. She has done it now. but she said sage helped to help with the flushes, they seemed less intense when she started to take it. Good luck

the duration of menopause varies hugely from woman to woman. I've known some with symptoms for 20 years, and some that never even had a hot flash. In other words no one can tell you how long your menopause will last. But, you do not have to suffer with the symptoms...there are both holistic and medical treatments to ameliorate those.

The Menopause can actually last for years and years however there are lots of natural remedies available fro your local health food shop as well as HRT I know women on both therapies and it is a very personal decision Good Luck Dirky

We are all different but you will definitely have hot flushes for a lot longer than a few months,
I started mine in my forty's i am 48yrs now and i don't have them as much now.
I have never had anything for mine.
I wish you luck unfortunately this is part of us getting old
When i get a hot flush i tell myself i am having a mature moment...........just smile

Well thank you God! My last cycle was about 4 years ago. Period! (tee hee) no flushes, no sweats, no raging hormonal anything. Mind you I never had any pain or discomfort or pmt either through the years...but I had no children either. Wonder if that made such a huge difference?

Impossible to predict, it varies from one woman to the next. If you can't bear the symptoms and you don't want to take HRT, ask at your local health food shop about natural remedies.

It really depends on the person but if you look at other women in your family(if there is anyone) ask them what there 'change" was like and you should have a similar time
