You go to the county court house in the same county in which you were born. They will be able to provide you with a certified copy. Will probably charge $10 or more for each copy you need. Good Luck!

The Department of Vital Records located at the Capital for that state i.e. Washington, Olympia - California, Sacramento - Nevada, Reno etc.. Dial your the area code for that city plus 555-1212 they will give you the number. It's going to cost anywhere from 11.00 to 20.00 per record (you only need 1, but hang onto it this time, I keep mine in my file cabinet or a fireproof safe is a good place.).

If you still live in the town you were born in, you can go to the county clerks office and request a copy.

If you're out of town or out of state, you need to contact the states office of statistics.

Do a search on line for your city, state and the word birth certificate. That should pull up the info for you.

Most of them charge about $10.00 or so. You will need to have identification.
