They are displaying their true selves in the most admirable way possible. These are truly devout and peaceful people- the ones I have met are aware of the modern world and not afraid to move in and out, but they have not let it harden them to all the good that the world is capable of. I am incredibly impressed but not surprised. My heart goes out to all of them as they are really a great extended family and every death has affected the entire Amish family. I am proud to count a handful that I have met as friends..

I've found a new respect for these people .. although I do not agree with some of their beliefs ..

While most people around the world were outraged at what happend .. The Amish heeded what the bible says about forgiveness.

It brought a tear to my eye to hear their spokesman say that they have forgiven the gunman and want to COMFORT his familly.

wow!

It is a part of their culture to behave the way that they are. It is what they believe and practice on a daily basis. I admire it. I don't know that if this happened in my family, even as a Christian, I would have the courage or strength to extend my forgiveness. For me it exhibits the true power of the love of God. Faith is amazing. God Bless

They have embraced God's peace!
Not only is this amazing, it is truly dignifying and humbling!
But...sadly...many people give in to their anger by grieving wildly over the dearly departed:
-rolling on the ground
-thrashing around wildly
-foaming at the mouth
-shedding wild tears,
-and cultivating a heart full of hate and unforgiveness.
I wish more of people would follow the example set by the Amish.
They've found comfort in God's care during this time of great tragedy and I am inspired by it!

I feel that the Amish are the only people left, who are going to Heaven. They stand for everything to Bible says we should be.
What is worse is that there will most likely be a psycho copycat. I have no faith left in our society

The Amish are truely good people. Others should take some cues from them and apply it to the ways they live their own lives.
It good to know that there are people out there who don't retaliate with hate, rather they forgive.

It is amazing, I wish everyone in the world could show that much compassion towards others. I don't think I could if it were one of my children though.

Unless you are used to attending funerals with clowns and dancing poodles, what else would you expect?

I believe we are witnessing the presence of Christ in their lives. Nothing else explains it for me.
