I would much rather read something long that was written by the answerer then something copied and pasted. I give thumbs down just so I don't have to scroll though it.

Sometimes I will copy and paste a paragraph or a couple of sentences from my source so that the questioner can get a feel for the article.

However, I agree that large pastes are not good. YA should probably restrict the number of words that can be posted in an answer. They might have one, but I've never run up against it.

i do so agree...there should be a 200 word limit and I havent figured out how to save these good answers I give and reprint them again for the same question...Ugh...
