Is Boston a liberal city?

Is Boston a liberal city meaning, are they more open towards people that are different( meaning people with unusual foreign names when it comes to job search,open towards people of different races, etc.) are the people in boston more cultivated?

People there, like all of New England are very independent minded, they think for themselves and form their own opinions, they aren't just spoon fed what to think and say at mammoth church/school/cult complexes. They are probably more liberal and accepting in general, to a large extent very well educated, but of course there are still some people that live in ignorance and fear of anything a little different than themselves, but at least there is only some of that, not rampant and widespread like in all the RED states.

Boston on the whole tends to be very liberal, voting Democratic in most elections. During the school year, half of the population is college students who come from all over the world and many stay after graduation, making it truly multi-cultural. But there are pockets of ignorance in the city, like any other city.

Boston in general is very liberal, and also is a very well educated, and therefor, open minded, city as a whole. However, you will find the same assortment of people everywhere. . .meaning I'm sure you can't speak for an entire city when saying people share one opinion.

It's superficially liberal and in some cases even Commie. Now ask them if they would like to live China or Cuba. Also liberal does not necessarily mean tolerant of other races or gay people.

They are liberal on social issues like AIDS spreading marriages and baby slaughter; but, just like any liberal city, they are elitists and preach without practicing. They want to live in a white neighborhood just like the rest of us.
