If the government released private information to some of your clients regarding past due back taxes, which caused loss of work, do you have a case? If they just want to levy the account, okay, but why would they divulge all of your personal information that is not neccessary to place a levy? Doesn't that voilate your right to privacy? Or, can they just do whatever they want? LUDICROUS!! Especially when you consider we've made the payments as requested and provided all information requested in a timely manner. We were doing what was asked, and I don't feel that this was called for in any way.

You could, but, think about it: they have way deeper pockets than you. They'll red-tape it until the case was eventually thrown out of court.

A couple exceptions though: Muhammid Ali beat the Government once.

Since a levy is a matter of public record, there is no inherent right of privacy in the issue for the most part.

When it comes to suing the government, that varies. Some jurisdictions flat out deny the right. Others require you to follow a sometimes tortuous claims route first - the Federal Tort Claims Act applies to claims against the US government and you follow that route first including meeting strict deadlines.

If you feel you've been wronged, consult with a local attorney. Nobody here can give you legal advice.

Yes, you can sue them, but you had better have A LOT of money to keep it going. They have a limitless supply.

Was it on your credit report? Were you taken to court?

That is all public information.
