So that they can be seen together as a group. The funeral "procession" will all be together at the same time. Some say out of respect, but it's basically to alert the other drivers of the funeral procession. In many states it's illegal to ignore the funeral and to keep driving while they pass.

They are called day-time running lights dude.
Otherwise it's to identify the motorcade as a whole so that they do not get split up. Did you know you can proceed through red lights if you are in a funeral procession? Often they have a police escort or placards on each car. In Canada anyway.

The same reason motorcycles have their headlights on...other drivers will see you easier. There are a lot of wrecks in funeral processions from traffic not pulling over and letting them go by. Thier excuse is always "I didn't see the funeral procession."
