I'm curious because I love Ashanti and I know a lot of people who like her. I think this "I dont like Ashanti" thing started when their was a rumor that she said that she was better than Aaliyah and then thats when people started picking on her. Ya didnt know she had sideburns when she first came out?

okay....i never even heard this. i don't mind ashanti, as a matter of fact, i just finished listening to some of her second album....i mean, i didn't know she ever said that and if she did i hope she didn't mean it, because it's really disrespectful. but she's nothing like aaliyah, or beyonce or any of the other young singers. that girl who said she is a rip-off of the other two is wrong! her music style is different, she's not trying to be nor is she like either of them!!! beyonce is more groomed and more manufactured...i like her...but it's the truth!! aaliyah...r.i.p....was just a more natural performer, it seemed like the music oozed out of her. i've never known any people who picked on ashanti that actually listen to that kind of music....most the people i know don't even care about this sort of music...
....but anyway, i'm curious about what the others say....

did she really say that? she couldn't have. she isn't even as half as good as aaliyah was. she was one in a million and i haven't seen anything like her since she died.
as for ashanti, let's face it. she is not hot. she has nothing on beyonce and aliciakeys in terms of talent. sorry if i sound harsh, but it's true.
ashanti won a lady of soul award at one time. ha!
and ja rule calls his label the most talented record label. whatever.

Yeah. Ashanti shouldn't have never said that she was better than Aaliyah (R.I.P. *Baby Girl*).....She lost alot of fans when she said that. Why would she say that?....But yeah, I like her. But she knows damn well she ain't know where better than Aaliyah. And she will NEVER be!!!!

I think because she was over-rated in most people's opinion. You have to admit, she really a "studio" singer. But nowadays, who isn't.
