You would have discharge if you were a virgin at 50. Women's bodies are very special. The normal discharge experienced by most women is meant to be a lubricant, to facilitate sexual intercourse and childbirth. It usually starts at puberty. There are also secretions from theinner folds of the labia that help prevent bacteria from entering the vagina and urethra. If the discharge is like cottage cheese, has a fishy odor, or has color to it, see a doctor. This could be a sign of infection. Otherwise, just bathe daily and always wipe from front to back to prevent an E.coli infection.

Your vagina and cervix are mucous membranes; discharge is normal and has nothing to do with whether you're a virgin. Vaginal moisture acts as a lubricant and cleanses the vagina. Cervical mucous aids in fertility. Unless it smells foul and/or is accompanied by itching, it's probably just your body doing what it does. If it smells bad or you're having other symptoms, see a doctor because it could indicate an infection.

pre-period, ovulation, possible yeast infection. nothing to do with sex. why dont you go have a pap smear if you are really that concerned about it. panty liners are a great invention too.
