I heard that the Broadway musical Hairspray is going to be a movie, can you give me some details??

For those of you who don't know, Zac Efron, John Travolta, Queen Latifa and others are starring in it... it will probably be very bad if it's produced by Disney.

I heard Queen Latifah mention it yesterday, but didn't get the details. It's a remake - the original (by John Waters) came out in 1988. Ricki Lake was Tracy Turnblad. John Waters was her mother as well as a male character.
I hope the new version is as good or better than the last. I love that movie! Now, I'm going to have to dig through my VHS's to find it.

OMG confident they have remade it. Its introducing Nicki Blonsky as Tracy Turnblad and stars Zac Efron as link Larkin. John Travolta as Edna Turnblad. its halarious and it comes out in November!!!

the origanal was GREAT...i am really looking forward to watching the remake..should be intresting..
and on a side note...
John Waters did not play Edna and the head of the Corny Collins show..it was actually the Late and Great Divine...

Hairspray was orginally a movie in the early 90s that was made into a musical. both are great. they may be remaking it... should be good the first was hysterical.
