i don't think they are dead, it's just the first episode of the season was all about jack, kate, sawyer. i'm sure we'll see the rest of them again, although i hear someone important will die this season......

No, don't worry, Locke, Eko and Desmond are all alive and well and will be in Season 3....yay....HTH : )
