The Mark Foley scandal has pushed this election to a tipping point. This weekend, we have a chance to push it over the top and strike a major blow against the worst kind of politics.Tom Reynolds, a central figure in the scandal, is one of the most powerful and malicious politicians in Washington. Reynolds recently devoted nearly the entire Republican Congressional Committee budget—$50 million dollars—to nasty, personal attacks against Democratic candidates. But Reynolds has a problem: this week, it was revealed that he knew about Mark Foley's scandalous emails, buried them, and did nothing to intervene. Folks in his district aren't happy that he covered his own butt instead of protecting kids—and polls show that all of a sudden, his race is neck and neck. That means we've got a chance to defeat the country's greatest advocate for trash politics on his own turf. Can we fight the worst of politics with the best of politics? Can reaching out to the voters who might not vote help?.. Y/N

Having been a campaign manager for a democratic senatorial candidate in the last election, it was amazing to see the number of citizens who felt that not voting was the best answer!

In order to get the citizens to vote they have to feel their vote counts. They have to feel their opinions, views and needs have been heard. Too many times I heard citizens say it wouldn't do any good as the candidates and government don't care about them. An opinion also supported by some of the caucuses.

The politics within the Democratic Party was appalling to watch. What I experienced was trash at its best. Everyone out for their own and screw anyone who dared to think differently or really represent the people. What a puppet show!

If the electoral college vote takes precedence over the majority vote...what is the use of voting? We have no control over the electoral college unless EVERY citizen votes! Majority vote will overturn electoral college if and when every citizen votes.

But what if the race becomes very, very close? What if there is a recount? What if a machine recount is followed by a hand recount? What if there isn't a uniform standard for determining what is a legally valid vote? What if Tom Reynolds then decides that what was good for Bush in 2000 would be good for Reynolds himself now and he seeks an injunction from federal courts to stop the hand recounts? What if Chief Justice Roberts and Justices Scalia, Kennedy, Thomas, and Alito grant that request because they want Reynolds to be in Congress and they want for Republicans to keep their majority?

What the hell difference does it make whether or not we vote when the people whom we can't vote for -- the Supreme Dictators -- won't do their job right?

Don't bother to vote. Stay away from the ballot box. Resign yourself that the wrong people are in charge and there is nothing at all that you can do about it.

This whole Foley thing is disgusting. Not only Foley himself, but especially the democratic operatives who sat on this and really did nothing about it until now just to gain politically. The Democrats and the liberal media are just as shameful as Foley himself. We have 4 and 1/2 weeks yet and I pray that as each day passes, that the just as disgusting role of the Democrats and media in this come to light, that they will go down in flames.

Have a Nice Day!

Why do you consider Jos. Kennedy - who left a girl dying in a car at Chappaquidick - good people. Other than e-mails - what evidence is there that Foley acted on his urges? The people answering questions here are not always nice. In any group the size of congress there are going to be some who are crooks in one manner or another. I do not want the likes of Nancy Pelosi, Chuck Schumer, Harry Reid, John Kerry or Hilary Clinton in charge of my country. They don't care about you and I - they care about having power and control over you. What you call nasty, personal attacks is actually holding their voting records to the light of day. In my state it is the Democrats who are lying, distorting and attacking their opponents.

I think it would be better for everyone just stay home and not vote.Just think if no one voted this year, are 08.All the *** holes would be out of office. And it would be good for the nation.
We would not be paying a bunch of dead beats to do nothing, and the money could be used to pay down our dept.Pluss I think we could do ok.With no one running this country.Hell they don't do it now.

Oh, man - this happens on both sides. How about George Souros (sp)? What about Clinton/Lewinsky? What about Clinton LYING ABOUT HIS AFFAIR? Bad enough that he CHEATED ON HIS WIFE, THEN HE LIED.

I wish candidates on both sides would clean up their acts. What do you consider the best of politics - you don't say.
