anything if u can well tolerate it. even fatty and spicy foods are not restricted to that extent if u can do well with them. but if they cause trouble definitely stop them.

n.b. - somebody wrote that yahoo Q&A are only surfed by common people. it's not so. the medical professionals are also sometimes online as like me.

You answered this yourself. Non fatty food. The gallbladder is what breaks down the fat in foods. Now that it's gone, you have to stick to high fiber, lean meats, lots of fruits and vegetables. Also, be on the look out for lactose intolerance. A lot of times after the gallbladder is remove, people can no longer eat dairy products.

I had my gallbladder out ten years ago and I don't do anything special. Most doctors now say that the old idea of limiting fats for that reason is pointless. From experience, I have to say that's right. For all the normal reasons, I try not to eat too many fried foods, but even when I go to town, I have no problem.
And I'm one of those people who butters darn near everything.

Non-fatty and very very bland. You should have gotten (or the person who had the surgery) information after the surgery as to what to eat and not eat. Don't take a chance - call the doctor to be absolutely sure.

Avoid most animal fat. My mom had gallbladder surgery and she is a borderline vegan. Eat natural food, organic non processed food. Only eat good fat (i.e. olive oil, nuts, fish). Eat good whole grains.

Eat lean meat, vegetables including potatoes, fruit, fruit juices, vegetable juices. Nonfat dairy (milk, cheese, sour cream, cream cheese, yogurt, cottage cheese and ice cream are all high in fat unless labeled as nonfat. There are great soy substitutes out now that don't taste like soy for sour cream, cream cheese and yogurt. There are also milk substitutes like almond milk or soy milk that taste pretty good and can be used successfully in recipes. Read labels and visit the health food section of your grocery store for some of these products.

You can eat soft food. Mashed potatoes are a good bet. Avoid any meats for a few days.

Also, drink a lot of water to avoid hydration. Gatorade is good for that. Better than just plain water, in fact.

high fat and high cholesterol foods are out pretty much from now on. Lean meats, low fat dairy, no fast food. Lots of water, fruits, vegetables, lots and lots of fiber--so important. Other than that, you're golden.

people tolerate the removal of the gall bladder differently. some can eat the same things, and some can only eat low fat things. you just have to try it and see what happens.
