Clean your face with a gentle cleansing lotion. Dry your face and put light cream on. Wait until the cream gets absorbed into your skin. Then put foundation. After having done that, put some powder. If you got eye brow pencil or shades put it on. Then put some eye shades on. You can put eyeliner over the shades and then finish it off with mascara, starting with you top eyelashes. If you like to put a lipsticks on, make sure before doing so, you use lip pencil if you fancy. After having put the (foundation) you can use eye concealer to cover dark circle under you eyes. Make sure it gets absorbed before using the powder

Start with a concealer to hide blemishes, dark under-eye circles, and other impurities. Then, using a sponge apply foundation. Follow with an oil-control powder like Neutragena Oil Control Translucent Powder, to set the base. If you like a little bronzer, Neutragena has a great one that is light to put on.
After applying your base, I like to start with my eyes. You can do this two ways: You can apply the eye liner before the shadow or vice versa. Avoid lining the bottom inner eye because it makes the eyes look closed and less vibrant. When applying shadow, use three coordinating shades: a base color to apply all over eyes, a darker contrasting color to apply at the crease, and a lighter shade to highlight the brow bones.
When applying blush, follow the direction of your cheek bones. Use a color that is close to your naturally flushed skin. You may choose to use a liner on your lips, but I suggest only using a liner if your lips are thin and need to appear thicker. Apply a base lip color(this is just regular lipstick) and then finish with a gloss that is similar or lighter in shade. After all this, you should look great!

I just put on some eyeliner, mascara, and that is it. I dont mess with the blushes, lipsticks, nor the eyeshadow. Well sometimes I wear eyeshadow, but not that much. If you want to start wearing makeup, the trend these days with make up is staying as natural as possible. Wear make up that makes you look like you arent wearing any. That is the key to wearing makeup now. I dont know. I dont think I am much help here. Sorry. I am just helping out the best way I can.

Use oil-free moisturizer first. Then use foundation. Then put on eyeshadow. I suggest neutral colors, and use brushes instead of those little sponge things. Put on mascara; eyeliner is optional but is should go on before mascara and after eyeshadow, and don't use too much. Then put on blush; again using a big brush and don't use too much. Moisturize lips before applying lipstick so that you don't get clumps or smears. Use lipliner that is close to the same shade as your lipstick.

Gently, little bit by little bit.
Focus on the eyes
highlight ,surround the eyes with a line of eyeshadow and let it gently blend into the skin next to it
Draw a soft line from the edge of the eye corner (top of eyelid usually, but can be top & bottom) and ease toward the pupil of your eye and stop. Allow it to gently blend into the skin. No harsh lines.
Outline the lips, with a color that is two shades darker than your lips. Fill in the lip area with a natural color one shade darker than your lips.
Find a decent brand of toner and lotion to smooth over the skin. If need be, do a foundation over that, but again, very close to your natural color and blend gently.
Finish with color for the cheeks, using a color that is close to your lip color, but much much softer.
As far as mascara, since you've been off of it for 4 yrs, no need to go back unless you are very fair complexion or your natural lashes are very short. I use CLEAR mascara and allow my eyelashes to be as they are. I also use clear mascara for my eyebrows to keep them in form.
If you do need mascara, keep with your original natural color or the next shade darker. Don't go thick. Just be light and natural.
God made ya a beauty - don't cover it up!

use a sponge for liquid foundation, or a brush for stick foundation,
blush should be applied with a medium-loose brush,
eyeshadow comes with the applicator (u should be using 3 eyeshadow colors) the lightest color goes under your eyebrow to highlight it, the darkest color goes in the crease of the eye, and the other color goes on the lid... this brings out your eyes a little bit more,
eyeliner goes right at the base of your eye lashes,
use the mascara wand, start at the base of your lash and work ur way to the tip, simple strokes...
if you need more help or dont understand go to a makeup counter at any department store... just tell them youd like to try their makeup and ask them to apply everything for you... theyll show you

In the day time I personally like the more natural look like foundation, and mascara. In the nighttime I can get away with the extras like eyeshadow, eyeliner, ect. Maybe its my skin tone but I feel like a clown with alot on during the day.

I would recommend going to your local department store and having a makeover. Personally, I like MAC products...the people that work there are good at teaching you how to apply makeup. Then have a makeover every year to keep your look up to date.

this is one of my favorite websites - it gives lots of information about buying or choosing makeup, but not much about how to put it on, so I emailed the owner with questions and she emailed me back the next day with all of the information I needed! I liked it because I felt like I was the only person who emailed her, because she gave me a nice, long, personalized answer. good luck, I know you'll love it!
