Five Writing Steps:
1. For the introduction, write the thesis statement and give some background information.

Try the library. I'm sure a librarian could find you books to help you get started. Better yet, if there is a medical library in your area, at a college or hospital, you might call them and see if they can help. A lot of medical school libraries will have a librarian on staff that specializes in psychology.

what kind of topic braod the whole field or specific a particular area of psychology? I graduated from the University of Memphis with a BA in Psychology and now attending law school. are you writing a research paper? if so, it needs to be apa style definitely. however, in all my psy classes, with all the papers we ever wrote, it needed to be apa format.

also, if you're going into psychology for your career and even if you don't plan to do any research , you still may want to invest in an apa manual...they're great for papers, posters, presentations, etc.
