his dad won`t even by him an air matress to sleep on much less a bed...His 14 yr. old sister has to sleep on a sofa in the livingroom when they stay with him. It`s a three bedroom house.

there may not be a law about it, but maybe you can get him a blow up bed as a gift.

I know of no VA or otherwise state statute that would interfere with parental child-rearing, to which a parent can or can not sleep in same bed. If you suspect foul play, of some lewd sexual nature, contact the POLICE.

There could be many reasons why a parent chooses to have a child in the same bed. Many cultures practice this even when a child is much older, or the child might have had disturbing dreams and the father was offering comfort, or the child was ill, or lack of beds, so instead of sleeping on the floor, the father opted to have sleep with him. Who knows, did you ask why?

Don't jump the gun with sick allegations if they aren't warranted, as even a suspicion of sexual contact between a minor and adult isn't taken lightly. Question your child about the reason he/she slumbered in the same bed.
Hope I've given you some insight,, you might not like the sleeping arrangements, but those are consequences of a divorce, having two perspectives of child welfare; there isn't a case on point that I can refer you to.

I don't think there is a law against a child sleeping with their parent. The reason there is no law is because it is not a crime unless the child is being harmed in some way. If you feel your child is being hurt or abused, it is your obligation to report this. As a parent you should be protecting your child and not putting them in harm's way. Do you have some reason to not want your child in the bed with his father?

Best Wishes, hope everything works out for you.

My five year old son comes in my bed every night. HE wakes me up by saying "daddy can I sleep with you?" It is very cute and I see nothing wrong with this. If there is any type of law regarding this, it is an atrocity.

You really didn't tell enough. Does his daddy have a bed for him to sleep in that is his? Does he choose to sleep in daddy's bed because he misses his daddy and just wants to be where daddy is when he gets to see his daddy. You have alot that you didn't say. I am sure your boy is just fine with sleeping in daddy's bed with him when he gets to see him. I am sure your son misses his daddy very much. Blessed be....

There IS no law on that.

Unless the child reports that Dad is doing something improper, there isn't anything you can do about it.

Probably isn't one. What's wrong with it?

If you think there's sex abuse going on, take the kid to the doctor to have him checked out.
