you really should give more information if you want a good answer to your question. in general, it takes years after the infection with hpv to actually progress to cancer and not every woman with hpv is going to get cancer-only a few will and most everyone has or has had hpv. smokers and people who are immune compromised will progress faster, if you already have a severe dysplasia of the cervix it could become cancerous in a few yrs, but like i said, not everyone with any of these problems is going to end up with cancer of the cervix
