I'm guessing you meant to ask if it is smart to do this, and yes there is no problem with pasting a label on the unwritable side. As long as none of the adhesive touches the writable side, you're ok.

It's not recoomandable. You could unbalance the disc and it could damage your drive. manufacturers don't reccomend this kind of stuff. I have posted labels on my cd's, but I have posted them all over the surface of the cd. They were special labels and nothing happened to the disck or to the drive. But when I have tried to remove them I have destroyed the disc because data is written on the dye that's on the top of the disk (the printed side). So when I have removed the sticker I have also removed part of the dye and that was it. I have never since posted labels on disks. i prefer wriiting with a soft-tip permanent marker.

I dont think it is right because when cd rom will move it fastly with high speed ,ur cd can hang phycially and result to break u can use marker to mark on the unwritable side of cd.

But ya make sure u dun write on d paper label wid a sharp pointed nib pen & dont try puttin too much pressure while writing!
But pasting a paper label wud actly make the CD luk BAD... real BAD!

I have used a sticker on a cd but I wouldent advise glue Just use a marker.

B careful about the glue ur using. sum rubber glues damges the cd.u may see yellow tint in the writable side ,after few days
