Anne Rice's Vampire Chronicles... I highly recommend, being that you loved Stephen King..She has great style and can really make you suspend disbelief...She has a site, listing the order they came out and more...She's awesome.... "Hell's Bells"
You'll want to thank me, if you read her stuff...& you're very welcome, ahead of time...Happy reading !

Try any books written by Matthew Reilly, Jack duBrul, Clive Cussler, Ted Bell or James Rollins and you cannot go wrong! Reilly is considered the best mystery/thriller writer in the business and James Rollins is right up there with him. Jack duBrul has a character-Mercer who is a geologist that gets into and out of some of the most outlandish situations and Clive Cussler's Dirk Pitt series is very good also. Ted Bell has a series that starts with 'Hawke' and continues through four more books and are really great.

Read the rest of the Outlander books, they are fabulous.
You might also like some of Dean Koontz's work. I actually like him even better than Stephen King.

Try the "In Death" series by J.D. Robb. These books are advertised as "romantic suspense", but they are actually murder mysteries with a futuristic twist and lots of sex and humor. They also have very likably characters. At some points you almost get more caught up in the sub-plots than you do with the murder mystery part, although the stories are really suspensful. Give them a try.

You should try the Sea Dragon Heir trilogy by Storm Constantine. Its a sci-fi series with magic, dragons and royalty. The storyline is interesting and many a time, I found myself not able to put the book down. Plus, the names of the characters were cool.
