Its best to have 3 e-mail addresses;
1) Your ISP address, which you keep private.
2) A free address (eg Yahoo) which is for close friends and family only.
3) A public address which you change every three months or so as the spam starts to roll in.

You can't stop spam, if thats what you're getting; just set up a new free account, give out the new address to your contacts, then delete the current one.
Do tha tevery so often, it is an inconveniance to spammers!

If you are using Outlook Express, junk it and get Thunderbird (www.mozilla.org). When mail comes in you recognise as junk, right click it, select mark as junk, and any time that sender trys sending you something else it goes straight in the deleted items folder.
