Okay, I have been dating my current boyfriend for nearly 2 months now. My step-dad refuses to meet him due to my history of exes. I don't have alot just more than I have ever had. I am almost nighteen. My boyfriend is 21 he's the greatest guy and treats me like a queen. I just need to know how long I should wait on my step-dad to accept that I am maturing and that I do love my boyfriend. I wouldn't mind accept that my step-dad has this control over my mom and if he decides that I don't need to go over there than I can't.
Also I do have a younger brother who means the world to me and I want to be a part of his life when I can. (I am currently a student in a Vocational Trade School)

For whoever wrote that comment about moving out--- so you know I have moved out I pay for everything I need myself, including school. I just want to be there with my family the whole point of the question.

Get a job, get an apartment and do your own thing. Its hard being yourself under your parents roof. They set the rules. Getting a job and moving out might tell them that your maturing and you can deal with your own life. If you have your own place they can't tell you what to do anymore. Just don't rub it in their face when you do. Just sit them down and tell them you think its time to move out on your own. Good Luck.

,I think this a power trip for him, you are 19 and you are defiantly old enough to make your own decisions, You will know if this is a power trip for him if he controls the rest of the family to try and bring you in to his way of thinking, do not let him get away with this, call him on it
