I'm on the continous dosing birth control which means I skip the iron/period pill and I don't have a period. Well this cycle I'm on now is making me bleed but only when I wake up and right before I go to sleep and I dump major blood out. During the afternoon and early evening I don't bleed. I take my pills on time everyday, never skip doses or anything. Why would I be bleeding especially if I take them religiously everyday and they havent made me bleed before, especially like this?

I too take the pills consecutively to have no period. You need to call your doctor. Mine told me that there is still a chance of "break through bleeding" even when you take the pills consecutively. I was told that if I start bleeing to stop the pack where I'm at, let the bleeding finish and then start up the pack exactly where I left off. But, that may be different depending on the type of pill that you are taking. Definitely call your doctor. It's nothing to be worried about, if you haven't had a period in a while then you may have some bleeding. Don't be worried. I was on the nuva ring for a year and I used it consecutively so I wouldn't have a period. It never worked for me because I had major breakthrough bleeding. But once I started using the pill the same way I've never had a problem. Talk to your doctor. Maybe you just need to switch to a different type of pill.

Hope this helps.

if there is no way you can be pregnant, then you are bleeding because you are on continuous dosing. take a urine pregnancy test to be sure. every woman who does continuous dosing will eventually have breakthrough bleeding like this. some women can do it for longer than others though. i did this in the past and was only able to go continuous for 2 packs owhich = 6 wk of active pills - then i did placebo for a week and started over with 6 wk of continuous. other people can go for 3 or 4 months without having problems with bleeding. there are 2 ways to deal with this, first is to stop the active pills for 7 days and restart, just like conventional dosing of the pill. you can then resume the continuous dosing but u may be limited on how long you can do it for. the second option is to take 2 or 3 active pills a day until the bleeding stops. call your doc and discuss this problem, they can guide you to what would be best in your situation as i am unsure why you are on continuous dosing or how long you have been doing it for

For some women, not getting your period doesn't work. Both my daughters tried this and were unsuccessful. Also, is it your first time using these pills? If so, sometimes it doesn't take full effect until the second course. My daughter tried them for six months, but still had break through bleeding. Both daughters went back to the 28 day pill. Check with your doctor, they can give you the best answers, Good luck

It sounds like the estrogen level in the pills is either to strong or to weak. It is called break thru bleeding, I had it about 10 years ago, and I had to be taken off of the pill. Ask your doctor if this could be a possibility.

first of all stop taking the pills. then go see a doctor. because if i say i've had similar experience, the pills i was taking then may not be same as yours and our body systems are different so similar symptoms may not arise from the same cause. the doctor might need to change the pills. don't worry i'm sure it's not a serious issue.

Call your doctor! He/she is the only one who will be able to tell you what's going on. Sounds like those type of pills are not right for you.
