The swimwear that some men used to wear in the 60s... they were like a pair of shorts and a vest all in one... pretty tight (and pretty ugly)!!!

What were they called?!

I'm not looking for a brand name... or what they are... I'm looking for the specific name of the item of clothing, you know... to differentiate, like you would know the difference between a bikini and a tankini... I need to know the specific name of that kind of swimwear!!!

Thanks for your help!

They didn't wear those in the 1960's, dear. They wore those back at the same time when women were wearing wool dresses to swim in...it was more like the 1860's (actually, it was probably more like the 1920's).

Guys in the 1960's wore swimsuits very much like what men wear today. Essentially, shorts...no shirt portion.

Wrestlers wear similar outfits...they're called singlets.
