Because he didn't want the gunpowder residue to mess up his shiny blue unitard.
Here's another one. If he's always got his costume on under his Clark Kent clothes, where does he keep the red boots? Or are superman's (feet) just so small that his boots can fit into normal size shoes?

Even though Superman deflect the bullets, it will still hurt at least a little.

It's quite simple really. He needs to show off both his superhuman agility and his invulnerability.
If he dodged the bullet and had the gun bounce off his chest, it wouldn't have quite the same effect.

which superman ? ( are you talking about the TV original and maybe the intro where he not only dodged ( not ducked ) but jumped back so the bricks didn't land on his feet )

or in old continuity (Like 40 years ago), it was because his costume was invunerable and the guns were thrown near his face.....
