The fussiness sounds like it very well could be teething. Babies start teething at really different ages, by the way. My son started when he was about 4-5 months old, when my mother-in-law was visiting, of all times. He was fussy, I was nervous, we were all on edge! Then one morning when I was changing his diaper, I saw a tiny glint on his gums, and knew why he was so fussy. It really hurts them when they cut teeth.

Keep checking for teeth with a clean finger. Your baby will be drooling a lot, and sticking everything in his mouth. If you're breastfeeding, you will probably get bit. That's when most moms start baby on the bottle.

Rub some Orajel or Anbesol on his gums when he's fussiest. Give him teething rings. Refrigerated teething rings will be very soothing!

The best person to ask is a pediatrician. Every baby is different. My daughter was born 5 weeks early - she is now 13 1/2 months old, but she would really be 12 months and a week developmetally. However, she is right on track with her actual age, even hitting some of the milestones early. So, like I said, every baby is different. Your son could be right on track by the time he is a year old. Teething wise, my daughter got her first two teeth within a week of each other at 8 months.
The signs I was told about are constant drooling, a possible fever , and a possible runny nose. My daughter had all three. Feel around his gums to try to find a tooth breaking through the skin - if he is teething then you will be able to feel or see it up in the gums a little bit. Try baby orajel - it works great for temporary relief, so if you try that on him and he stops crying for a while, then chances are that he really is teething. The rash you may want to ask the doctor about. My daughter never got a rash, but if your son is drooling a lot, it could cause one. Like I said, all babies are different. Drooling is the biggest giveaway - all babies salivate a lot more when they are teething. To keep Faith from developing a rash, I kept a bib on her to catch all the drool. The skin can chafe if it gets too much drool too often.

a lot of drooling, putting each and every thing into their mouth and chomping no longer elementary, pink cheeks or a rash on the face, specially situations the indicators of a mild chilly (low fever, sparkling runny nostril), specially situations a foul nappy rash. The gums will sense very no longer elementary and lumpy and you will probable be waiting to make out the line of the coolest of the the enamel because it gets on the factor of the floor. additionally getting very clingy and fussy and not drowsing properly, if this is attributed to teething (or in all threat another reason for soreness like an ear an infection) you would be conscious a difference in the behaviour after giving paracetomol. My daughter all started showing indicators of teething at 3mo, she is now 8mo and nevertheless no enamel have popped with the aid of however the enamel are nevertheless rather busy below the floor so reason alot of little hassles for her. in the experience that your infant is showing some or all or those indicators then it probable is teething in spite of the shown fact that it may be rather a while till now you notice enamel so do no longer tension in case you do no longer see something for a at the same time as.

Could be. Is he drooling a lot? That was a symptom both of my sons had and they did get really fussy and crabby, too. My older son tended to run a fever and got mean diaper rashes when his teeth came in and my younger one got nasty cold sores. They both chewed on whatever they could get in their mouths, too. Ugh...I do not miss those days. Good luck!

Yes he could have a rash from teething. His face could get hot and spotty.
He could also get a burning diaper rash. The doctor would never admit it
but both of my children got very acidy urine when they were teething. Cold
teething toys helped. They used to have the ones you can put in the
freezer. Zinc ointment for the bottom.

Drooling, fussiness, red cheeks or rash, swollen gums who are pink and sensitive to the touch. My daughter started teething at 4 mths, and I believe 6 mths is the avg for getting their first tooth so absolutely it could be that. Make sure he is getting enough sleep, that causes my daughter to be a bit fiesty if she isnt getting all her beauty rest. Giving teething rings, cold washclothes to chew on, or rubbing their gums with your finger can be great to help with the irritation.

My son got a diaper rash everytime he cut teeth. Other symptoms are diahrrea, excessive drool, fussiness and chewing on everything. If you take your (clean) finger and run it along his gums and he winces/cries in pain then you've got your culprit for sure.

Teething can affect a baby many ways.
Fussy, fever, crying a lot, rash. ear infections.
Babies can get teeth as early as two months and as late as one year.
My baby even pulls at her ears even though she doesn't have an ear infection.
I feel so bad for them, can you imagine how painful it is?
