no, the world will be just fine. WE might nuke the hell out of each other, but i'm not too worried about the world itself. lol.
i think the world will be a lot better off in 2 years or so. regardless of who's in the white house, democrat or republican, we'll be better off than we are now.

Depends on what you mean by the world ending. If you are referring to the complete and utter destruction of the planet itself then no. If you are referring to the complete and absolute collapse of the fabric of society falling into totaly anarchy and violence then yes. There are references in a great mnay religious texts, not just the christians, that make references to the kinds of things that are happening, have happened or are in the process of happening. Also, these texts describe similar events even thoug hte cultures that wrote them could NOT have had any contact at the time they were originally written down. I, myself am prepared for these event and will find great entertainment in watching those that haven't prepared try to survive, and fail....

No, Even at the current rate of material degeneration it will take the earth a few of our lifetimes to put us in peril. The things we have to worry about between now and then are Volcanoes, asteroids, Virus/plagues, terrorists exploding a nuclear device of some sort etc. These are very real threats that could happen any day. They are possibilities, not probable but possible.

The only thing that can destroy the world (if "world" means our civilisation) is so short period of time is a a deadly new virus. As You propably know viruses are constantly "evolving" (mutating) and becoming more resistant for our immunological system (I don't know if this name is correct, sorry). Scientists are worried that one of "less dangerous" well known viruses will "evolve" into totally immune for all known medicines "version", and without a proper vaccine it will simply.. kill us?
No-one can tell when it could happen but at this moment we are loosing in this "war" with viruses...

no i dont think so, because, its science and it is theorectially proven that the world started approx. 5000years ago and it is here till another 5000 years. this is so because the worls is here because of sun.and the enery in sun is produced by the fusion of hydrogen to form helium. but ater about 5000yrs the hydrogen will be converted into helium, the core of sun will go cold and will start contracting. this is when the temprature in our galaxy will dip exponentially and then the earth will experience another ice age.
