Hard question to answer. If US hadn´t existed, the Soviet Union wouldnt had opposition, and i wouldn´t like that world as much as i dont like this one. But instead of asking what if kind of questions, i think we sholud ask how is it possible that the only place in the world where Bush could win an election is the U.S.? The U.S. president has a major influence all over the world. Why shouldn´t every citizen in the world vote for the U.S. elections... I can assure there would be no more drunk presidents

The world would be a better place if the United States of America hadn't detonated a nuclear weapon of mass destruction against another country. At the time, I'm sure the powers-that-were thought it was a prudent things to do.
But look what it's done to the world. Now every advanced nation on Earth believes its own stockpiled weapons of mass destruction are the only defense against the new 'evil empire' - the United States of America.
Iran, Pakistan, India, China, and all other countries feel they have to have nuclear weapons to defend themselves against the bully Bush.
When our huge military-industrial complex discovered how obscenely profitable 'war' could be (after World War II), plans were set in motion to buy every politician and persuade them to always vote for 'war'. So, we've had the Korean Conflict; the Cuban Missile Crisis; the Cold War; Vietnam; and Desert Storm - all designed to fatten the coffers of McDonnell-Douglas, Boeing, Halliburton, and all the other government contractors who manufacture everything from helicopters to H-bombs.
Had the United States remained a world leader and global peacekeeper, the planet would have been a better place. But devils like George W. Bush have made the world unsafe for all inhabitants, and have every reason NOT to stop the fighting.
Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld and all 535 members of the current incompetent, contemptible, corrupt U.S. Congress should be tried in an international tribunal for crimes against humanity, and - if convicted - they should all face a public firing squad. These people have done more damage to the world since 2000 than Harry S. Truman and all his predecessors up to and including Bill Clinton have done - combined! -RKO-

If the United States of America had not existed 40 years ago, Russia would be ruling the world, we all would be speaking Russian and no one would be enjoying any of the freedoms we do today.

ABSOLUTELY NO ONE should pay any attention to RKO at all. I read his or her comment, clearly he or she has no understanding of history and definitely does not know what he or she is
talking about.

Uh, quite simply, no.

The US is the standard for the world in living, democracy, and power. The US is responsible for many inventions and innovations and is responsible for defeating communism.

I'd be very interested in seeing the pathetic state of the world without US intervention and innovation.
