Have you tried talking to your mom and asking her why she doesn't think he's good enough for you? You never know, she might have some good reasons. She might see something that you don't, then again she might not. Your mother is probably just afraid of losing you, you are her baby. It's probably hard for her to imagine anyone else taking care of you except her. Try to understand where she is coming from and if all else fails, just try to ignore her negativity.

I have to disagree with most of the other people on here. It all really comes down to your age. Growing up, I had tons of boyfriends that my parents said were not good enough for me. Most of these relationships turned sour. Who was the one that I went to...my Mom. Parents have a way of knowing what is best for their kids. It seems you are too young to have a serious relationship, so just have fun and be a kid. You have your whole life to find the ONE guy. Guys will come and go, but your parents will always be there. Please don't let your relationship with your Mom go down the drain over a guy.

I think that you are old enough to make your own decisions. It really doesn't matter what anyone else thinks as long as you are happy. As far as your mom goes..I think you should take into consideration to what she is saying being how she has been around the block a few times and know somewhat she is tlaking about. If he is the one for you..more power to you...but don't just forget that maybe he isn't...

I hate to say it but my mothers intution has ALWAYS been right. I will NEVER tell her that but every single one of the men my mother had a problem with ended in heartache. Maybe you could ask your mom WHY she thinks he isn't good enough. Tell her the positive things that YOU love about him maybe all of the things you have in common. Always tell your mom the good things about him and don't ever tell her about the fights. Hopefully she can see the good things that you do. Good Luck!

If you really love him it shouldnt matter what your mom thinks...I mean it will always matter what your mom thinks but you shouldnt let her oppinions get in the way of you being happy...but be4 you go behind her back and make her mad try to talk to her and try to tell her how you feel about him and how she is just going to have to get over it....

Umm they say mothers know best but this time its not her call...You're the only one who'll have to deal with him so tell her let you make ur own decisions even if it doesn't work out in the end. Serioulsy though...mothers will never agree with who you choose as ur bf, try to make her see hwo much you love him and how much he loves you.

if u love this guy then tell ur mom that she has to accept that..he is ur boyfriend and not hers and if u are with him long enough she will probably stop acting that way eventually

My dear if you are old enough to have boy friends hopefully you Mother is old enough to keep her distance. Now if you ask her for her advice then she can give it. These are your choices to make in life. Hopefully she can give you room to learn on your own. Now if you are to young to be dating then that is different.

You need to distance yourself from your MOTHER.

This is NOT HER DECISION TO MAKE. Cut the apron strings and stop looking to her for approval. Live your life. Be happy. She has nothing to complain about if you are happy.

Ask her what she really don't like about him. From your description of her reactions, there must be something else. Be honest with her and ask her to be honest with you. Try not to react to what she says. If it has no merrit, then do as you will, but be sure you are honest with yourself if it has.
