Pros are : successful family planning intervention, never having to remember taking a daily dose of the pills anymore, no disturbances related to hormonal excess as sometimes happens with pills, no excess chances of stroke, heart attacks, hypertension, thrombosis, etc.

Cons are: sometimes the IUD can go missing and then it is either presumed as expelled from the body, or it may have perforated the uterus and reached beyond it. But it is very rare. Then, if the size is not correct, then it may cause pain if a bigger size has been inserted, or it may be expelled if it is smaller in size than that is required (there are 3 sizes available for use). If the lady is having PID (pelvic Inflammatory Disease), then the IUD may worsen the condition and may cause pelvic pain and heavy menstruation during the periods.

If you are sure you don't want more children it is wonderful. No worrying ever again about pregnancy and birth control. The only cons would be that if you have it done and you want a baby later a reversal is costly and not too successful. And there is some down time to recuperate after you have had it done. Also, the initial cost of having the procedure, unless your insurance will cover it.

As with any surgery, even laparoscopic ones, there are risks involved. You will have some discomfort after surgery. You may have a small risk of infection. You can develop a complication called adhesions, where tissue 'sticks' to each other in the abdomen, and require a second surgery to relieve this. These are very small risks for the great number of people that undergo this surgery.
It is very effective to prevent pregnancy. It is generally not reversable. It will not protect you from cancer of the uterus or ovaries or from sexually transmitted diseases.

Pros- u don't have to worry about getting pregnant.

Cons- u could die, get an infection, u need to recover from the surgery. it hurts.

My advice- get ur man to have a vasectomy instead.

Another thing is that some people say it causes their periods to be heavier after that.
