You must have 12.99n < 45, so n < 45/12.99.

45/12.99 = 3.46, approximately, so you can only buy 3 CDs.

This is a very simple question. Have you been paying attention in class?

12.99n <= 45

n <= 45/12.99, where n is a whole number (you can't buy a fraction of a CD)

3 CD's with $9.03 left over. Looks like this: $12.99 x 3 = $35.97. $45 - $35.97 = $9.05. Is that right?
