To be honest, it was actually not that bad, the story was a bit carbon copied but the music was quite good and the actors were alright as well.
It hasn't recieved much critical acclaim in the UK as it has has in the US but I've heard quite a few people say how much they liked it, the songs have also done quite well in the UK charts as well.
Probably a good seller of CD's and DVD's this Christmas

well i don't like musicals but it was done very well for a Disney movie. the acting was pretty good in comparison to other movies in which children have the lead role. the choreography and synchronization was also pretty good. i also know that it sold 6,469 copies in it's first week. it shared the Emmy award for outstanding children's program and won an Emmy for outstanding choreography. the director was nominated for the 2006 Emmy award for outstanding directing for a Outstanding Directing for a Miniseries or Television Movie.

I thought that HighSchool Musical was okay i didnt like troy or that one girl i like Sharpay and Ryan!!! They were the best singers out of the movie but my favorite song was Stick to the Status Quo

the ppl in my school love it so much that we're gonna have a play called "jr." high school musical. LOL :)

Catchy songs loved most of the bball moves. Was and is different from most movies but pretty good

Oh dear god if I have to watch it one more time I may have to go out & commit mass murder of perky smiley happy american kids aaaarrrrrrrggggggg.
On the up side it keeps my daughter quite ish ( apart from the out of tune singing she does to all the songs

Its mega cheesy and American but very watchable.
My little brother dowloaded every single song AND the Kar-e-oke versions so now its the only thing i hear.

The movie is kind of weird but great for a disney channel movie. The songs are the best i know them all!!!!!!! Do you like it?

I know this boy whos watched it five times which scares me alot. And no thanks for me I'm older than that. I'm sure its a very good film for primary school kids.
