I am writing an essay and I need to know around what time in history did women become strong in the job economy...

That would be during WW2 when women were called up to work in defense etc. to replace the men at war. Earning a paycheck and learning they actually *could* do things without male supervision is what eventually led to the women's lib movement of the 60's and 70's.

Women have always been in the work force. They didn't become a real presence until world war 2, when the men were off fighting.

During world War 2, they took all the men away to fight and women had to fill up the job force. Make planes, play baseball, keep the home fires burning. Did it with a smile.

exact date which congress allowed women to enter was June 03 1932, but the first woman to enter the work field was March 21 1933. her name was Helen Rossenburg from Virginia. Soon after that, the group became very strong after about January 1941, soon after that it became a trend for women to work. I did a report in my womans studys class on this same topic. let me know if you need anymore help
