Oh yes, started with a smile and a song, ended up with tears and an aching heart. It hurt but it was for everyones good. It would have been impossible to continue without endless guilt, until at last it died of it. Even a romantic or passionate affair can eventually go sour if being together is a guilty pleasure rather than one of honor, respect and love.
In time, the affair was just a memory and life better than I ever dreamed it could be.

I met a man about 5 years ago at the job I had then, we fell in love with each other. It was different because (well we never had sex) but we talked all the time and knew that it was just a meant to be thing (soul mates) i guess you could say. I was married at the time and he wasn't, I also had a child. We ended up breaking it off because I was married and didn't feel that it was the right thing to do. Even though we knew we were meant to be with each other at that time it was not right. It destroyed both of us to break it off but we did in the end remain friends. He has since gotten married and I am going thru a divorce but we still talk, we still love each other and know that perhaps one day we will still get the chance to be together but only when it is right.

My husband just told me that a year ago he cheated on me. It was a one night stand. I was "fine", what ever that means. Then I found out that he had been having an online affair and I was devastated. I cried for weeks (I still do). Then he told me he ended up sleeping with this online girl (he knows her because they used to work together). A part of me died. This was back in March of 2006 and I'm still in pain. Knowing that he was emotionally connected with another woman and then slept with her was way more than I could handle. I still cry.

Emotional affairs are actually worse (if one of you is married) than physical ones. Physical affairs are just about sex. No that it is right, but that's what it is. Emotional affairs are about love. They are much more devastating to a marriage than a physical one.

yes i have had an emotional affair and it started when i had my last baby. i met this guy who seemed to be the right guy for me we dated and feelings grew until i found out that he was married and had children of his own.it hurt to be lied to and because of that i'm being healed as we speak. i't been almost four years to the date but i'm ok and i'm moving on. that encounter will not stop me from dating because all people are not the same. stay encourage and stay focuse. god bless.

Yeah, I did. I chatted to this girl a long time and I found myself getting attached to her, even though I never even met her. It affected my marriage, and I became depressed. I ended up quit the chatting thing and lost touch, but it affected me emotionally. I don't wanna do that again....
