An area of northwestern India, adjacent to Pakistan, where the predominantly Islamic population is waging somewhat of a war of independence from India. And this information, while rudimentary, is done without any kind of search engine, which I what I think you were asking for.

Kashmir (Kashmiri: کٔشِیر कॅशीर, Hindi: कश्मीर, Urdu: کشمیر), also known as Cashmere, is the northwestern region of the Indian subcontinent. Historically the term Kashmir was used to refer to the valley lying between the Great Himalayas and the Pir Panjal range.

Today Kashmir refers to a much larger area that includes the regions of Kashmir valley, Jammu and Ladakh. The main "Valley of Kashmir" is a low-lying fertile region surrounded by magnificent mountains and fed by many rivers. It is renowned for its natural beauty and quaint lifestyle.

Kashmir is the province of India that is also being claimed by a number of Pakistani groups and parties. It has been an area of contention between the two countries for decades, with a lot of violence occurring because of it. I would hazard a guess that most of the violence over it is from the Pakistani side, because they are the ones with the grievance and because that is how it seems to me in the little news I do see about it.

It is a constant source of tensions between the 2 countries.

That's just off the top of my head.
