why do i keep getting absesses on the same bust every few weeks ive had it drained but it heels?

and then becomes itchy and red and i get antibiotics of doctor then it opens up for a few days and gunge comes out then it just heels itself again

You may need to have cultures done on the abscesses to find the right antibiotic. Also, just draining them will not cure the whole thing because you basically have an "empty" abscess cavity when that is done. The cavity will produce serum (fluid) and the bacteria in it will replicate leading to the abscess again. You may need an I & D (incision and debridement) and the right antibiotics to get rid of it completely

It sounds like it needs to be surgically incised and drained. If it's laid open and packed with ribbon cause to prevent it closing up, it will heal from the bottom of the wound upwards. This can take some time, and requires daily dressing changes at first but the abscess is less likely to come back this way. The reason it keeps coming back is that it has never drained properly, i.e. some of the pus has remained and the skin has healed over the top. See your doctor next time it flares up again, and insist on a referral to a surgeon. Good luck. :)

a friend of mine kept getting pustules that the doctor would drain and pack for him... and then they would just come back.. finally they figured out it was a staf infection... hey changed his antibiotics and he was fine.
