To answer your question, no and no.
You think kids would have more respect for their parents if teachers were cramming the Old Testament down their throats? Dream on. How long has it been since you were a teenager? That kind of approach leads only to rebellion.
And as far as discipline goes, last time I checked, any decent school has disciplinary procedures in place. If you disagree with those procedures, you should address the issue with the principal and/or the school board.
Quit whining and get real.

I think that there needs to be at least a moment of silence for the children to pray if they would like. But, yes, DEFINITELY discipline. I went to school when they still gave spankings. I remember kids refrained from acting out because they knew they would get a paddle. I have a baby brother...who's not such a baby, but he's in eighth grade and believe me, he needs a paddle! I think it really needs to be reevaluated.

I agree that bringing the Bible and discipline back are good ideas but, I don't think it will make kids respect their parents more. That respect needs to be taught at home.

It's up to the parents to discipline their kids. If you bring in the
Bible, then all religious texts should be allowed.

NO!!! EWW!!!
Not everyone has your beliefs and you don't have the right to force your religion on anyone else!
I agree there is a problem with kids needing discipline, but there are other, BETTER, ways to address it than to preach religion to them!
Religion is the CAUSE of most violence in the world! Look at the wars going on in the world! Whats the cause? Religion!

Other people have religions too and we wouldn't like it if they brought their religious manuscript into the school! If you want your child to have the bible in his/her school then put them into a religious school.
