I already have a 1990 Carrera 4 which I enjoy but fancy the idea of something newer. I can't help feeling though that the Boxster is a bit of a 'girly' car... should I stick with my 911 or change?

I'd prefer it to be a Porsche. They're simply the best in my opinion. 993.... possibly.....

911 all the way - but the Boxster is a sweet ride!

My point of view is a Boxster is a 2-seater car, that will depends on you whether you want a 2seater or 4seaters. At least the 911 C4 can still squeeze in passenger at the back. Porsche in Singapore had launch their new 911 C4 last year and it comes with a Cabrio and coupe. And the new Boxster is coming in soon, why dont you go down and compare both cars before you make the decision? Your C4 is more than a 10yr old car, I guess it's time you trade-in and change.

Boxster only comes in cabrio, and cabrio cars tend to be more noisy cos of the cloth roof top. Whereas a coupe is make of hardtop. If you were to buy a 911, chose a coupe, at least you can open and close like a Boxster, but at least that will keep the noisy level on the road down in comparison to a Boxster.

Porsches are never girly cars, the 911 is more of a pure car than the boxster besides the value increases by time as for the boxster very nice car and fun to drive but is getting too popular

Boxsters are not for people that cannot afford 911s. They are for people who are just going out for joyrides. With the 49/51 differential it is a sweet ride to take to the track. They are newer than most 911s and the maintenance is not as much. They were made for those that loved 914s but without the stigma of Volkswagen attached...

Meanwhile, if you really want something newer - take a Cayman out for a ride. Also mid-engine, not a convertible... but a really great ride.

Added note: As for a Bugatti Veyron - I don't know many that have a spare Million+++ for a car that gets 3 miles to a gallon these days. Do you?

Stick with the Porsche 911 Carrera 4. I think that is pretty cool german car to have right now and it's pretty fast as well.

I like both, but personally have to go with the boxster, my brother has the boxster S class, that car is hot and fast, but the 911 is sweet to. Go with which ever you want more.

I would suggest purchasing a 1999 or 2000 911 cab, remember Bill Gates drives a 1999 silver one everyday--and he has a stable of porsche's..he luves it, I see him driving it all the time.

Stick with the Carrera pal, Boxters are for people who can't afford a 911.
