I live there. I was just wondering what outsiders thought of it.

Wonderful city, lovely people, lovely culture, great pubs. The only problem is it is filthy in the streets and public places, lots of trash, crisp bags, empty soda cans etc. strewn everywhere. Such a shame really. However, periphery scenery is awesome.

I have lived in Glasgow for 19 years (Since I'm 19 that means all my life) I live in the east end of Glasgow in Baillieston. In all honesty its a beautiful city but the only beauty is the old buildings, there is nothing else about this city that is worth looking at, sure some people may think the clyde river is nice, but whenever I look at it I just wonder how many bottles of buckfast and dead bodies are floating in it.

Glasgow is a city of neds.

Glasgow, Scotland and the world would be better off without them in my opinion. But the city is such a dirty place to live there is no respect for people or their surroundings. I plan to move out of Glasgow in the next few years, don't get me wrong Scotland is an amazing place to live I just wouldn't suggest anybody move into Glasgow, unless you like to walk around watching you're back all day.

Anyone that says glasgow is rubbish doesn't have a brain! Yeah theres a bit of wear and tear just like there is to every city but in no circumstances is every second window that you pass broken. Yeah on a saturday morning there may be last nights kebab and a bit of sick on the street but you tell me what city doesnt look like that after all the inhabitants have been out on the piss the night before?? Yeah it has it's neds and undesirables but i would like to point out that those sort of people are everywhere and some of them are even worse than the ones in glasgow city centre.
Glasgow is full of good bars restaurants nice people and culture all you have to do is find the right places and the right people. I should know this because i live there :D

Hi there

I lived in Glasgow for 2 years, on a working holiday visa. I`m from Australia. I really liked Glasgow, especially the west end. The people are really friendly, and I made some lifelong fiends there. The night life & shopping were great, and I love the Cathedral.

There are 2 things I really didnt like, the first was all the Rangers Celtic stuff, theres a lot of hatred there, I found it a bit stupid in the end.

The worst thing though was the LITTERING oh my god I couldnt believe how people just drop rubbish in the street.......it just isnt tolerated over here.

Do you like living there?

i love it!!!! again biased as i live there but it really is brilliant --- you could speak to anyone walking down the city center and they would talk back -- wouldnt get tht kind of friendliness in london more likely to get spat on or kneecapped - Glasgow has a bit of a bad reputation for being full of drug addicts and murderers and i'm not denying that there probably is people like this living here - but its the same with every big city we're no different. It really annoys me when I tell people i'm from Glasgow and they have a look of pity and say " ohh isn't that a bit rough" ehmm no spend a night or 2 in london and you'll know wat rough is

As a born & bred Glaswegian I'm a bit biased, but I think it's a cool city, but it has some problems, just like other big cities. There are too many junkies, jakies & neds. I live in the city centre (Saltmarket) and the place is full of these scum. The people don't care enough for their city. What tourists think about the filthy state of the streets doesn't bare thinking about. It's shameful. The people are generally fantastic though, much better than those toffee-nosed Edinburghers, which may as well just be in leafy Buckinghamshire. Well, with a lot more hypodermic needles...

I'm biased.

I lived on the South Side for seven years before moving to Ayrshire.

Have you ever walked along any of the main streets, like Hope Street, Union Street, etc. and looked at the buildings at first and second floor level? The stonework on the old buildings is so ornate. Absolutely beautiful.

Yes, I like Glasgow.

Glasgow is a great place. A vibrant city full of vibrant people and some great characters. Think of Billy Connolly and Rab C Nisbett and you'll know what I mean.
Great shopping, pub's club's, restaurant's etc;
Glasgow is a great place to visit - a great city - and I don't even live there!

I work in Glasgow at least once per week. It alot better than Edinburgh and far better that London. Beats Manchester and Liverpool. Rivals Inverness and Aberdeen. Yup I suppose it is ok. People are awsome if you can understand them. Pubs are excellent. Buildings are cool. the only thing that really annoys me about Glasgow is all the people who try and stop you walking down Buchanan street in the middle of the afternoon and try to sell you something. Just ignore them though or point and laugh. That usually works because the rest of them see you and avoid you so you get all the way to Argyle street without any more problems. Hope you enjoyed it.
