the matches were actually entertaining and full of drama. when you were on the edge of your seat wondering what would happen. when you thought it was over and someway, somehow your favorite kicked out at 2 and 3/4 back when the matches all had a big match feel to em. back when the cards were stacked from opening match to main event. when the storylines made sense and when everyone wrestled like it was their last chance to get signed. thats what i miss.

I miss the days when wrestling was not so centered around VInce McMahon. Vince and his family have run the business very well for the last 20+ years. What they need to do is stay at the HQ or at home and keep behind the scenes. He is rich enough and he just loves to flaunt it. I am so sick of seeing him on TV and hear "kiss my as$" or "you're fired". Enough is enough already. Plus the matches these days suck. How many times can Bobby Lashley wrestle Finlay? OMG what are they on now; part 10? And some feuds last too long. They burn out, but the writers keep dragging and kicking it. I am sick of the soap opra that this has turned in to. DX can suck it; the Diva's are a bunch of brainless bimbo's who CAN NOT wrestle (with the exception of maybe 2), and the creative team sucks. Period.

focused more on the sport part of the business and less
on the entertainment (storylines/angles) part of the business
to draw in fans. Japan and Mexico were two hotbeds of pro
wrestling outside of the USA, where the sport aspect means
much more than the entertainment side of it. I missed the days
when Nature Boy Ric Flair battled Ricky "The Dragon" Steamboat in matches that lasted up to an hour on PPV. Those ***** type matches are far and few in between these days. I would recommend ordering tapes or DVDs of Japanese and Mexican pro wrestling if you want some quality wrestling, and less theatrics, even if you have trouble with the language barrier.

I miss the days when wrestling... had real stars who were normal, like Kevin Von Erich, David Von Erich, Eric Embry, Gino Hernandez, Chris Adams, Bruiser Brody, Gary Hart, JJ Dillon.
These guys were able to both wrestle and entertain, and I shudder to think at what would have happened to them if they had ever hit the big time like poor Kerry Von Erich did.
Vince or Bischoff would have just pumped them to death with loads of stupid crap and you wouldn't have even seen the ability at wrestling or managing that these guys had.
I think there are some tapes for sale of old Dallas Sportatorium matches, so if you have some spare change that is what you should spend your wrestling dollar on.

...had multiple federations. i started off as a WWF fan but then i started watching WCCW, AWA, UWF and NWA. wrestling was on all day from morning to night on saturdays in the 80's. i thought it was great to watch ricky steamboat in one show, then switch to see what hotstuff eddie gilbert, sting and rick steiner were up to. then changing the channel to watch nikita koloff, lex luger and the original four horsemen.

"I miss the days of wrestling when.........
..... it actually had me running home to see what new and exciting thing would happen next in reference to who would cross who, who would be a guest wrestler, etc...
..... Mean Gene Okerlund would interview before/after matches.
..... Vince actually commentated.
..... the McMahon family was "unseen".
..... we had flamboyant wrestlers like..... Ultimate Warrior, Adrian Adonis, Brutus Beefcake, Rock-&-Roll Express, etc....
..... and on and on."
Actually the only "true" answer is..... when wrestling, WWE wrestling, wasn't so predictable.
