I personally think its a real bad idea..and why not around the Canadian border as well??? We'd torn other countries wall down (Berlin Wall) yet we are constructing another.

Constructing a wall without border enforcement is just another congressional waste of money.

If we can't police our own borders a new wall will accomplish nothing.

We are also are war, with the poverty stricken masses of Mexico and central America. Our legal immigration rate is too high 1.1 million (that should be reduced to 250,000)and now with the current illegal invasion it is more than the county can take. Environmentalist should be aghast as carrying capacity of the United States has been met. It doesn't matter if "flyover county" has thousand of forest land. That land is needed to grow timber, as an aquifer, and to absorb carbon dioxide.

Basically, we need to man up and build an Israeli style security was (as between Israel and Gaza) including land mines. I am sure that horrifies some people but why do you think land mines were invented? If this continues we will not have a nation in 5 years.

Your comparison is not correct. The Berlin wall was put in place to divide the country. The US border wall has nothing to do with divinding up United States. I supposed if we have more money we would put up wall around Canada border as well.

I personally don't like the idea of putting walls around our borders because it makes it harder for the illegals to leave our country.... oh wait is it the other way around? ;-)

They are going to construct a wall at the Canadian Border, from British Columbia to Ontario.

fence??? who knows/ wall ... fence

It's not going to help things much. But if America feels the need to "wall" itself in, that suggest a really big insecurity problem, not a security problem.

No constructing a wall is a waste of money. If the government truly wanted to protect the border, they would invest money into the border patrol.

Walls (like locks) only keep honest people out. Unless you are going to enforce your wall with lethal force, such as the Communists and the Chinese did, illegals will continue to find ways over, under & thru.

This wall is only going to be a big waste of money.

I think it's a great idea. We don't need to build it at the Canadian border, 'cause we don't have a problem with Canadians coming to the United States. If anything, the Canadians should build one to keep us out. But, I don't think we're as big a problem in Canada as Mexicans are here in the US.

I think that it's a waste of money. First, it only covers about a third of the border and secondly, people are just going to find ways around, under or over it.

This is the dumbest idea i have ever heard, our government needs to take that money a feed the straving kids in this world and take care of issues in our backyards. Mexican are the hardest & most underpaid workers in this country and in all truth 50% of the workers building that wall will probally be mexican We need to take care of our country first
