Bush is not the cause, it is all the illegals coming over here and mooching off us people who work our butt off everyday trying to make a living.

One of the great things about the United States is that every four years, we get a chance to change our government leaders. Every two years, we get a chance to rein in the leaders we have by saddling them with a congress that won't agree with them. There are times when gridlock is good.

This would be one of those times. We have survived egotistical maniacs in the White House before. Ulysses S. Grant makes Bush look like a choir boy. Herbert Hoover was a waste product. We've had plenty of Presidents who were very bad at the job, and many who were very good at using the position to do bad things.

And then we voted them out of office and went on with our lives.

The biggest threat of the past six years, and it probably has been going on longer than that, is the way the three branches of government are grabbing power from one another in ways the Constitution prohibits. The Supreme Court is making law with its decisions. Congress is trying to pass laws that make illegal wiretapping a non-punishable offense. The President is doing things unilaterally that should only be done by Congress or with their support. We need a house-cleaning and a realignment of powers into the places they belong. The world is full of gray areas, but which branch of government has power over a particular thing should not be one of them.

Yes.

But illegals being responsible for it??? Boy, are you naive.

Don't confuse the CORPORATE government with the NATION OF PEOPLE here in America. The corporation serves itself, and has brought us (very intentionally) to this nexus.

The PRIVATELY-OWNED Federal Reserve banks OWN us.

Our military and police have been usurped.

The Patriot Act diminishes OUR civil rights, liberties, freedoms, guarantees of due process, and protections from unfair treatment by our own government. It empowers our President, protects government from US, and protects us from NOTHING.

Last week's "torture" bill reiterated that, shifted powers from Congess to the President, and finalized the VAGUE redefining of "potential terrorist" and "enemy combatant" to easily include any AMERICAN CITIZEN the government is displeased with.

The Act that created FEMA states that if a President declares a (vaguely defined) national emergency, FEMA becomes our interim government, taking over all industry, finance, employment, distribution, communication, transportation, credit, everything. Congress will have NO say.

Do a search for "Northwoods Document", or just read this:
http://www.retakingamerica.com/northwoods_page_1.html

Now, add 2+2...you will not like what it equals.

We are not the country you think we are. The constituents of the neo-cons have been duped into selling us all out over political promises based on false morality and elitism.

The Patriot Act ALREADY redefined our nation, and completely changed the role and position of we, the people.

Illegals? Please...get a clue.

What DOES the United States stand for? I mean I know what we used to stand for, but anyone that watches just about anything our business controlled government does would have to wonder if we really still stand for ANYTHING other than "control" and "profit".

With respect to your question are "Bush/Illegals" the cause, my opinion is that NO they aren't the cause. I'm not a Bush backer, in fact I believe history will undoubtely show him to be one of, if not the VERY worst President we've ever had and I also believe his administration's misguided policies have, for no VALID reason, costs the lives of thousands of citizens who were just doing their jobs as soldiers. That being said, I'd still answer NO to your question. I believe that it is greed which is causing the societal downslide you refer to as "going to hell in a hand basket". EVERYTHING our government gets us into can be traced back to some big business tycoons making more cash. But of course, our country has been about THAT since the beginning. Democrat, Republican it doesn't really matter who's in charge. Everyone is human and everyone ultimately has a price. When the money gets big enough; morals, ethics, etc. all just goes out the window. So Bush certainly is doing somethings that make it harder to be an American but he is not the CAUSE of our problems.

Now with respect to the "Illegals" part of your question. I know that a lot of people think that, but it just seems like a silly viewpoint to me. How are the illegals causing us a big problem? Do you want to come cut my grass, do you want to come clean the hotel I stayed in last night, do you want to come climb up on that building in the freezing cold or buring heat and nail down those roofing tiles, or are you pissed because they'll stand stooped over in the 110 degree heat for 12 our more hours picking the beans that end up on your table and they'll do it for about $3/hr? Is THAT the job they're taking away from you? Come on! Why not make them all legal and then see if you can collect some income tax from them and have them pay for some of the government servcies we all keep hearing about them using. If you're not legal, no governement servcies, end of story, hit the road. So make all legal. Why whould we shut the door now? Chances are everyone reading this on Yahoo Answers had ancestors who came here from SOMEWHERE else too. Mine came from Ireland in 1742. They were let in, and the people who were already here at the time bitched about that too. Let the Mexicans in, let 'em get taxed and controlled just like the rest of us. "Land of the Free"...what a joke THAT line has become.

Oh and by the way, if you think your income taxes are going to pay for servcies being enjoyed by the illegals, they're not. Your 1040 income taxes are ALL (95%) going straight to the owners of a private bank here in the US called the "Federal Reserve". It may sound like part of our government but it's no more a part of the government than Federal Express. THAT's where your money is going. If you want to be pissed about your money, look at where it actually goes...straight to the owners of the Federal Reserve bank.

Yes, our country may be "going to hell in a hand basket" but we can't blame "W" or the Mexicans.

Yes, the US is "going to hell." However, as much as I "dislike" our president, he isn't smart enough to have caused such a massive problem.
The decline, in my opinion, started back after the Civil War when the states lost their rights.
If the United States would just go back to the original intent and meaning of the Constitution, things might start to pick up.

Idiot. You're forgetting the terrorists who crashed their planes into the WTC towers. Stop trying to use the illegals as scapegoat. We are in this mess because the muslims resent our support to Israel (Jewish Millionaires control the US economy). And now they want to blow us all up. If we are going to hell, it's because of etremists, not apple pickers/day laborers/janitors and hotel maids. Use your brain a little will you?

Illegals are a huge part of our problem. They take much more than they contribute. They drop an anchor baby here and then suck up all of our freebies. We can not run a country like this.

Bush is one of our few saving graces. I can only imagine John Kerry running to the UN asking if we might please be allowed to defend ourselves against more attacks.

Democrats want an Open Border, because illegals vote Democrat.
The Democrats help them vote with their fraudulent votes.
