I've played more CCG's than I can possibly remember. Especially if you count stuff I've tried once at a convention and never touched again.
Spellfire was horrible. Bloodwars was almost exactly the same game with a few minor tweaks that made it almost rise to the point of being mildly fun.
Star Trek was OK, but mostly sold to collectors rather than players.
I was never a fan of any of the incarnations of the Star Wars CCG's , but the first one wasn't bad.
I've seen a few truly horrible CCG's whose names I am fortunately supressing. It's a good thing that they're all so obscure your safer not knowing the names.
On to the good stuff.
Magic started the whole craze and has the built in advantage of lots of players. Some of whom are even people you'd associate with in public.
Legend of the Five Rings is one of the oldest CCG's still in print. There's a reason for that. Great game. Excellent in both multiplayer and one on one.
Jyhad or Vampire the Eternal struggle is just like it's characters, the damn thing just won't die. I believe it's back again. Pretty good game, although it really needs multiple players to be interesting.
Game of Thrones. Solid game based on the George R. R. Martin series. Better in multiplayer I think, sadly, died in my local area before we could really test that idea.
Games dead but not forgotten
Babylon 5. I really, really wanted this to be a good game. Is it? I really can't tell, have never found a single opponent. It seems promising though.
Illuminati: New World Order: A personal favorite. Died out more because of the CCG glut and some publishing errors than any lack of quality fun to be had. Can be fun head to head, but really is intended for multiplayer.
Doomtown: If youv'e ever heard of the Deadlands RPG, you already know what this game is about. Crazy fun in a weirdly warped version of the Old West. Take over control of the town with undead gunslingers, mad scientists, monsters, and more. Resolve shootouts with poker hands. Done by the same guys who do L5R. A great game that really, really didn't deserve to die out when it did.
Quick ranking of my favorites:
L5R (by a hair)
Doomtown (close second)
INWO (just because I'm odd)
Game of Thrones (barely ahead of Magic, mostly because I love the books)
Magic (hey 5th on this list isn't so bad)
Some other games I've played but never developed a real opinion of: Dune, Legend of the Burning Sands, Harry Potter, Duel Masters, Marvel and DC versus system, WCW Nitro, WWF Raw Deal, Wing Commander

Magic (Very nice game), Pokemon (just too much variety, but fun), Yu-Gi-Oh! (GREATEST GAME WORTH PLAYING!!!!), Duel Masters (Too hard), Ederon (kind of like Magic, but this is online and you can find me as captainyami at www.ederon.com, it's great), I could try VS System and a Nintendo All-Stars TCG if Nintendo made one to conciede with Pokemon! Spellfire and Doctor Who, those I never knew they existed. And I never played Star Trek and Harry Potter, those I pass.

The first collectible card game I tried was Pokemon. It was pretty fun to play when I was about nine. I haven't played in awhile. Next I played Digimon which was awesome! Then I collected Yugioh and it was pretty good. I tried the Spongebob Squarepants game which was HORRIBLE! Now I am into the Naruto card game which is one of the best ones yet!
1.Digimon
2.Naruto
3.Yugioh
4.Pokemon
