November Rain is badass! Though I don't think it is the best. My personal favorites are:

1. Freebird- love em' or hate em' three guitars wailing in unison is insane.

2. Comfortably Numb- Gilmour is so tasteful on this one!

3. Whole Lotta Love- Sloppy, nasty, sexy, pure rock n' roll! Page is a rock ICON!

4. Machine Gun- Hendrix's soul cut open and poured out for all the world. Not really a solo, but the whole song is bad!

5. Lenny- Stevie Ray Vaughan's beautiful ballad.

There are tons and I could go on for hours. Lots of good metal ones too. Slayer-Reign in Blood, Metallica- One & Master of Puppets, Sabbath-Snowblind, etc, etc, etc.

Guns n Roses doesn't even figure:-

Rolling Stones - Time Waits for No-one or Can You Hear Me Knocking
Cream - Spoonful (live version)
Lynryd Skyrnyrd - Freebird
Ten Years After - I'm Goin Home (live version recorded at Woodstock)
Jimi Hendrix - All Along the Watchtower (or just about anything else he ever did)
U2 - New Years Day from Under a Blood Red Sky
Led Zep - Stairway to Heaven
Blue Oyster Cult - Maserati GT from On Your Feet or On Your Knees

The best guitar solo I have ever seen performed live was by an obscure local band called the Bob Pearce Blues Band in a smokey pub called "The Onslow" when they played a 15 minute medley of Beatles tunes as a tribute to John Lennon just after he was shot. There's nothing like a guitar solo played from the top of a bar...

Toss Up: Comfortably Numb or Freebird. I actually like Sweet Child of Mine better than November Rain for solos.

That's a good one...but I really like pink floyd guitar solos. Skynyrd also comes to mind.

There's a really good one in the Avenged Sevenfold song Bat Country too.

METALLICA

For the life of me, I cannot remember the title of the song; but it's like 14 minutes long & it's almost all guitar solo.
