Try to be a little more assertive, but dont go all brash at once.
If people ignore you, it's more to do with thier own over-inflated self opinion. If you can... and a suggestion you made turns out to have been the right one, yet it was ignored, make sure you tell people.
You sound very shy.... if you want to come out of your shell, there are means and methods... but remember take small bites. Slowly slowly catchee monkey.
Youre not invisible.... Look how many answers you got right here ?
Maybe a career move ? is that possible ?
Good luck.

There's nothing wrong with being quiet and calm im like that myself. Sometimes i think we just need to be a little more assertive to get heard. That doesn't mean being loud mouthed. Confidence and the way you carry yourself probably has something to do with it. If you feel confident within yourself it automatically gets you other peoples respect as it come across. Or even just appearing confident but dont be afraid to speak up for yourself when needed. This shows your not a soft touch

Try and give people important messages, they will soon learn to listen and remember. The only other thingf that I can think of is "stand up and be counted", whats the point of staying quiet if your not happy.
Because you are generally quiet, you could use shock therapy! watch a few confidence boosting films
shes all that

Wear loud hats, dye your hair, have opinions on everything. Or just constantly talk about goings on in your life. But not necessarily loud mouthed.
This will put you in peoples mind. Even if it is for the wrong reasons you will at least be noticed and hence your contributions will be noted (as long as they are not bad).

You need to be a little bit more assertive and confident, you will always find these sort of people, standing up and bending slightly forward looking down on people is a good way of getting your message across, it tends to slightly intimidate them and they remember what you have said, failing that just ignore them as they obviously aren't worth the time.

Stay late after work on Friday. When everyone's gone home, cut a hot chilli in half, lengthways, and rub it round the rim of everyone's cup. Come Monday morning, everyone's cup of tea will taste bad, apart from yours. Calmly say, "I don't know what you lot are moaning at" and carry on with your day. Repeat this regularly, and people will take notice.

To thine own self be true. Don't change who you are just to get noticed. In fact, I'd probably be more productive with you as a coworker than these obnoxious morons I have now. Keep on doing a good job and it won't matter how quiet you are.

Be yourself. I would say help your co-workers understand in a quiet and calm way, just how serious you are, in a way you feel will work, you the boss. Understand where I'm coming from?

You don't have to be rude or loud mouthed. Do your job well and let that speak for itself. Management will notice.
