What would be the first step in obtaining a psychology degree? I know its going to be a long road, but where do I start? And what age do you think it would be "too late" to do something like this?

It's never too late!!!

First, you find a school that offers a psych degree. Most schools do. It's very common. It really doesn't matter what the school is as long as it is reputable. It will make a difference in grad school which school you go to, though, especially in that some are focused on research and being an academic and some focus on working in the field.

Just apply and start taking classes. For me, it was an incredibly easy degree, but I stopped with a BA. Feel free to email me if you have any specific questions.

The first step would be enrolling in a school that offers a psych degree. What do you want to do with the degree? If you want to become a licensed psychologist, you will need to get at least a master's (and usually a Ph.D or Psy.D as well), so that will take at least 1-2 years full time after earning your 4-year degree (4-8 for the doctorate). If you just want the bachelor's, it obviously won't take you as long, and it would be more feasible to go part-time if you need to (more typical of older students). I would suggest contacting the psych department at whatever school you wish to attend and making an appointment with an academic counselor. This will help you to plan out your best course of action. As for whether you can ever be too late in starting a degree program, you can't. My mother just earned her bachelor's this past spring at the age of 60, and she's getting plenty of job offers and interviews (just waiting for the right deal to come along).

I do not recommend a Psychology degree, unless you know exactly what you want to do with it. Are you going to teach? Going to med school? Yes it will be a long road, but as long as your under 80 you should Finnish. Good Luck!

After your preuniversity as soon as you start your graduation classes you should start with psychology as your main subject
Ex: BA Psychology finish your graduation in this field and try and complete your PG also in the same field as it will help you out a lot later in your career.Along with this try picking up some skills like body language, graphology etc as these enhance your value as a practicing psychologist.
